Sadness
Repeat the affirmation several times until you feel an internal shift.
Sadness can show up at the most unexpected times, especially when dealing with life’s long-term stress. When there is fear of sadness, or when we try to push sadness away, it tends to get more intense. Sadness is a normal human emotion everyone experiences at some point in life. Fighting sadness is counterproductive. Being kind to the feelings of sadness gives it internal space to change into a more manageable feeling. Though remember, sadness is there for a reason and it is important to acknowledge the feelings and embrace them.
Affirmation: “There are more characteristics to me besides my feelings of sadness. I am strong and insightful, and able to deal with my sadness by embracing my feelings with love and compassion. I will honor the sadness without fear, to let it run through me for it to leave again, as many times it needs to. I know it feels intense right now but this too will pass. And even if it does not feel like this right now, dealing with difficulty will make me stronger and more emotionally capable over time. I am my own power.”
